Nightlife in Bangalore - So good South Indian software engineers like to go to bed at ten, and Beantown likes to keep an early curfew. But it still has its fair share of places that rock. The pubs are still around: reasonably priced draught (this I, after all, Kingfisher country), the best snack menus (on which tongue-searing chilli chicken and the Bengaluru Chinese special, Gobi Manchurian, are the staples), and classic rock. The new and happening lounge bars, though, have fired the imagination of the young, flush-with-funds, out-of-towners who move into the city week after week. The Taj Residency finally has its very own bar, Ice - a small, intimate joint that has quickly become a hot hangout in the city. Barman Giancarlo Mancino, who is as skilful at holding a conversation in his delicious Italian accent as he is at mixing one of his vast repertoire of martinis (162 at last count), is the man to watch.
