South Extension Market

South Extension - An up market shopping centre in South Delhi, 20 minutes away from the city centre is South Extension. It is divided into South Extension I and II - on either side of the busy Ring Road. Expect to find brands and savvy shops here. Trendy clothes and shoes are a highlight. Some of the recommended shops are Bizarre, Nextt, Wills Sport, Pall Mall, Old Street, Appearances, Sehgal Bros for trendy western, Heritage, Ushnakmal, Meena Bazaar for ethnic Indian, Nalli's for south Indian silk saris, D& A, Italiano, Jass, Mehrason for jewellery - besides brands like Benetton, Nike, Reebok, Lacoste, Adidas, Gucci, Jane Shilton, etc. The departmental stores - Ebony and Big Jo's - are also popular; here you may find everything from appliances, branded make-up and perfumes, clothes, watches and so on. Crosswords at Ebony is a favoured bookstore, Teksons and Bookmark are to others. Three big international brands have also opened shop here- these include Mango, which houses clothes, shoes, bags and accessories for the young and trendy, Nine West, again a high-end shoe store and Tommy Hilfiger the popular clothing brand. Not many restaurants are there in South Extension though Gourmet Gallery is an option with its variety. However, you may get some very good chaat in the by-lanes.
