Holika Dahan - Celebrated on a day prior to main Holi festival, Holika Dahan holds deep religious significance in Hindu religion. This auspicious day falls on the night before full moon day (Poornima) of Phalguna month. It’s an old Hindu tradition which is celebrated with Holika death and Pralad safety in a small circular ceremony popular as Holika Dahan. The date and time for Holi Dahan is held in accordance to Hindu calendar, falling in the night or late evening.

In the evening during Holi Dahan, People roast “Jau” in the fire of Holika. Then they bring it to their home and spread all over the house. This ritual is considered very auspicious for all family members according to Hindu mythology. It is believed that burning “Upali” in the Holika Dahan fire will bring an end to all your problems in life. Thus Hindus celebrated Holika dahan with great significance and every ritual is performed in the entire North India.
