is 4.19 Crore. The state has witnessed a descent growth of
Population in the last 10 years. In 2001 Census, its population was
estimated to be 3.68 Crore, thus it has witnessed a growth of 13.97
percent in its Population in this decade. Further it has shown increase
in its literacy rate from 63.08 in 2001 to 73.45 in 2011. Better
education facilities by Government of Orissa have proved vital for this
increase in literacy rate. Total Number of Male Literates in the state
stands at 15,326,036 and female at 11,786,340. Overall Population
statistics provided by the census of India shows an increase in total
population of Orissa. The eastern state of India has also witnessed a

this decade. Orissa Government has taken significant measures to improve
quality of education in the state. Better education facilities are
