Restaurants in Amritsar - When in Amritsar, no one can forget the city's famous cuisine. Check out the special Amritsari Kulcha, tandoori chicken, chole bhature and a tall glass of lassi. And there is no way you can miss the Amritsari Fish. Just try out the crumb fried river fish seasoned with fresh lime-juice. Some traditional dhabas, like the Kesar da Dhaba and Bhrawan da Dhaba, in the old city, are famous for their Amritsari fare. The Kulcha-Chola Dhaba on Maqbool Road is a must-must. Hit the dhaba for breakfast.

The mother of all street-food is Lawrence Road, one of the city's foodies' hunts, especially in the evening, with many sweet and chaat shops: Mathura kesar kulfi. Makhan's is special for Amritsari fish.

Lawrence Road buzzes with activity and people retire pretty late, compared to other parts of the city. It virtually begins with restaurants (Kwality and Novelty) and almost ends similarly (Munim Di Hatti and Bansal Sweets, famous for sweet made of pure desi ghee). In between the street food, you will find some of the popular fast-food names (Café Coffee Day, Burger King, Pizza Hut, The Big Bite).

Then there is the evergreen Crystal Restaurant on Crystal Chowk serving Indian, Chinese, tandoori, Mughlai.
