How Many Weeks in a Year

According to the Gregorian calendar, a year comprises 365 days excluding a leap year which contains 366 days. A leap year has 366 days because the month of February in the leap year consists of 29 days while February has 28 days in the normal year.

A leap year occurs every 4 years of the calendar cycle or the leap year can be determined if that year is divided by 4.

Hindu or the national calendar also follows the same figures of days but its new year commences from the month of Chaitra.

So, there are 365 days in a year and a week consists of 7 days.

If the total number of days in a year is divided by the 7 days then the outcome will be the total number of weeks in a year.

Therefore, the total number of weeks in a year will be 52.1429 weeks, i.e, 52 weeks and 1 day.

This number will be the same in the case of a leap year excluding the number of days, so when the number of 366 days is divided by the 7 days then the total number of weeks will be 52.286 weeks i.e, 52 weeks and 2 days in a leap year.
