National Doctors Day is celebrated on the 1st of July every year. The first-ever National Doctor’s Day was celebrated in 1991. About Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy
Respected Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy was born in 1882 in the Patna Bengal Presidency, British India. He pursued and completed his graduation in mathematics after which he went on to pursue medicine at the University of Calicut. To pursue higher education in this very field of medicine, he joined the well renowned St. Bartholomew’s Hospital hat is located in London. However, due to his Asian roots, he was denied admission to the institution. Still, he did not lose hope and after 30 rejections, his application was accepted.
