Rabindranath Tagore was born into a wealthy family with educated members. R Rabindranath Tagore’s grandfather was a major tycoon with several enterprises in finance, coal mining, and textiles. Debendranath Tagore, Rabindranath Tagore’s father, was not very interested in business but was drawn to spiritual activities.
Rabindranath Tagore was reared by slaves when his mother died when he was young, which is why he coined the term Servocracy to describe the period. He struggled in school since he couldn’t pay attention in class, and as a result, he was frequently penalized by instructors. As a result, he shifted schools on a frequent basis, attending Calcutta Academy, Oriental Seminary, and St. Xavier’s. Finally, he began studying at home with Hemendranath Tagore and a number of other professors where he learned basic education, music, and physical education.
His father later led him on a self-discovery voyage during which he learned history, contemporary science, and astrophysics. Furthermore, he learned and mastered the Ramayana and Upanishads. He lived in London in 1878 to study law at his father’s request, but he was uninterested in the subject. He composed his first poetry at the age of 13 and it was published in Tattwabodhini Patrika.
