Business in Coimbatore - The main business hubs of the city are Kutchery Road, Gandhipuram and R.S. Puram. Kutchery Road is where most of district offices, including the Colectorate and other revenue offices of the district, the courts, etc, are located. This is the area which links the other two districts - Gandhipuram and R.S. Puram - Nanjappa Road and - Avinashi Road in Gandhipuram house many a corporate office, including industrial major Lakshmi Mills, and the newly developing information technology park, near Coimbatore Medical College. The Park, that will house at least three IT majors and many smaller companies, is spread over 56 acres and will also have a Tidel Park. TCS and Wipro have already been allotted land in the Tidel Park.

Most of the medium and small textile and machinery manufacturers have their offices at Raja Street and Big Bazaar Street in the old city area. The area also houses the offices of many telecom companies, banks and showrooms of global brands.

Another emerging business centre is Malumichampatti, is where L&T is developing its manufacturing facility on 300 acres. The company has already started production at its switchboard and valve units. A number of small textile and machinery manufacturing units are also coming up in the same area.
