How did Parshuram get his name?
As a child, Parashuram was called Ram by his parents. Later, when he grew up, his father Jamadagni asked him to go to the Himalayas and worship Lord Shiva. Rama did the same by obeying his father's orders. Pleased with his tenacity, Shiva appeared to him and ordered the destruction of the demons. Rama showed his might and the demons were destroyed. Seeing this feat of Rama, Lord Shiva gave him a weapon named Parashu. That's why he became Parashuram from Ram.
Why did Parasuram Killed his own mother?
There is a very popular story that Lord Parashuram had beheaded his mother and brothers. But only a few people know why he did this. Once Jamadagni Rishi sent his wife Renuka to get water for worship. But she delayed and did not come back at the time. Then after returning Renuka, his husband said that you have committed a grave sin. He ordered his four sons to cut their mother's throat, but for mother's love, none of the four brothers killed him. At that very moment Parashuram Ji came there and his father Jamadagni ordered him to behead his mother and four brothers. According to the orders of his father, Lord Parashuram beheaded his mother and brothers. Pleased with Parashurama, his father asked him to ask for a boon. Parshuram Ji asked for a boon that his brother and mother should be alive again and he should forget this incident.
Why did Parshuramji Took birth?
Lord Vishnu took the incarnation of Lord Parashurama to destroy the injustice, unrighteousness, and sinful deeds being done by the kings on earth. In Parshuramji, the combined qualities of Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva are found. He got the quality of destroyer from Lord Shiva and the quality of foster from Lord Vishnu. Lord Parashurama was born in Treta Yuga. The day when Lord Parashuram was incarnated, the day was the Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Vaishakh month. According to the Hindu religion, Lord Parashuram was born to end the atrocities on Brahmins and sages. It is believed that worshiping on the day of Parshuram Jayanti gives auspicious results. There is special importance of doing charity on this day. Those people who do not have children, those people should keep fast on this day to get a child. On this day, along with Lord Parashuram, the blessings of Vishnu are also received.

The day of Parshuram Jayanti is very important in Hinduism. On this day one should take a bath in the holy river before sunrise. If there is no river near you, then take a bath by mixing a little Ganga water in a bucket of water. After this, take a pledge to fast by lighting an incense lamp. Worship Lord Vishnu by applying sandalwood with the law and then offer it to God. People keeping fast on this day should not eat any kind of grain. According to Hindu beliefs, Lord Parashurama is one of the seven Chiranjeevi men. He is still alive on this earth.
