Champions Trophy Winners List

ICC Champions Trophy was first introduced in 1998 as ICC Knockout Tournament by International Cricket Council.It's a short cricket tournament to raise funds for enlargement of the game in non test playing countries. The tournament is also known as Mini World Cup.ICC Champions Trophy was extended to 2017 'cause of its major popularity, as 2013 was announced the final edition of this tournament.

From 29-30,September,2002,the final match between India and Sri Lanka took place at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo,Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first.Sri Lanka Scored 244 runs in 50 overs with the fall of 5 wickets. When India had 14 runs in 2 overs,then the match was interrupted by rain.The match was delayed to next day,rain occurred again,hence both teams were announced as winners.India and Sri Lanka was the Co-winner of ICC Champions 2002.

On 23rd June,2013,India won the match against England by 5 runs at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham.England won the toss and chose to field first. India Scored 129 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 7 wickets and England was stopped at 124 runs in 20 overs.
