IPL Winners List

In 2008, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) created an Indian Premiere League (IPL). DLF was the first title sponsor of Indian Premiere League till 2012, then it surpassed to TATA in 2022. Lalit Modi is the first Vice President, Chairman and the Commissioner of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Team names are mainly based on states and cities of India.

At the starting, eight teams were Introduced, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challenger Bangalore and Deccan Chargers.

In 2010, two new teams were added Pune warriors India and Kochi Tuskers Kerala.

One year Later, in 2011, Kochi Tusker Kerala were Terminated, then after a year Deccan Chargers also got terminated.

In 2013, Pune warriors left the BCCI for some financial issues. Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants were introduced in 2022.

Rising Pune Supergiant never won, as it was terminated after 2 years of its debut. RPS was just runner in 2017 against Mumbai Indians.

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals shares the record of not winning a single trophy since 2008.Royal Challengers Bangalore is three times Runner-up team whereas Delhi Capitals is one time.

Who won the most IPL Title

Mumbai Indians has the record of most winning title of Indian Premiere League. In 2013, MI won by 23 runs and the runner up was Chennai Super kings. After 2 years, Mumbai Indians won by 41 runs, again the runner-up was Chennai Super Kings, Likely 2 years later, Mumbai Indians won by 1 run against Rising Pune Super Giant. In 2019,Mumbai Indians won by 1 run against none other than Chennai Super Kings. But in 2020 Mumbai Indians broke their style of winning and won against Delhi Capitals by 5 wickets.

Chennai Super kings is at the second place for winning the most IPL title. Chennai Super Kings is four times winner. Winning their first title in 2010 against Mumbai Indians by 22 runs. CSK won again the very next year against Royal Challengers Bangalore. After a long break, CSK won in 2018 against Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets. In 2021,winning fourth times, CSK beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 27 runs.

Kolkata Knight Riders won IPL title twice. In 2012, won by 5 wickets against Chennai Super Kings. 2 years later, in 2014, Kolkata Knight Riders had their Second Trophy by 3 wickets, opponent was Kings XI Punjab.

There are One time winners; Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Deccan Chargers and the recent one is Gujarat Titans by defeating Rajasthan Royals in the Final match at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
