Kundalini yoga or laya yoga is a unique type of Yoga which helps us in living a healthy life.
Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini Yoga - Kundalini is actually a Sanskrit word that literally stands for coiled up. Therefore, Kundalini is also conceptualized as a coiled up serpent that is taken to be lying somewhere at the base of our spine. It can be awakened by activating it through spiritual disciplines. And in this awakening what play a major role are the Chakras or the psychic centers of the body. The practitioners of this branch of Yoga contemplate on their chakras to spawn a spiritual power, which is known as kundalini energy.
This practice actually implies an awakening of the Kundalini Power from the base of the spine and then forcing this energy to reach up to Sushumna Kendra which is at our brain. In doing so, the Kundalini needs to cross many nadis or channels within our body. These channels include ida, pingala and the sushumna that are running alongside the spinal cord in our body.
It is held that after the Kundalini is awakened from its base point coined as Muladhara Chakra, at the root of the spine, it is guided towards the highest chakra (sahasrara) located at the crown of the head and it is here that self-realization occurs.
